I had high expectations of this book based on the prior three books in this series and how good they were. I was disappointed in this book. I am not a fan of detail heavy books, and this book definetly was, so much so that it made the book hard to read.
This book is told in the third person, which is not my personal preference, but throughout this book, Rock uses french terms (oui, mon ami) which were not only ridiculous given that he was from Louisiana, but utterly unnecessary and made the book less enjoyable for me.
One thing I do like that Ms. Walker does is she kind of builds up anticipation for the next book by starting to hint at who it will be about. It was obvious that Born Wild will be about Bill and Eve.
Overall, I thought the story was good, and it was a decently good mystery, but I had a hard time getting past the french (which didn’t bother me as much in book three as it did in this one).
I love this series though, would highly recommend it, and will continue reading this series, hoping for many more to come.
