Book Review – Sugar Rush by Belle Aurora (Friend-Zoned #3)

Max Leokov has watched the people around him find love.
At one point in life, he not only wanted that, but lived for it.
He loved once. He loved with all his heart.
His heart broken, he was left to care for his young daughter.
He deserves a second chance.

Helena Kovac has spent years studying.
She has worked her ass off to get her degree.
She doesn’t have time for love. Hell, she doesn’t have time to mess around, even.
Books and work are her life. Everything else comes second.
When Max and Helena join forces to help his daughter, Ceecee, they are shocked at the spark between them.
A cynic.
A workaholic.
When love hits, it hits hard.
And sometimes, love hurts.

4 1/2 out of 5 stars

Oh, how I love this series!!  I hope that Belle Aurora writes about 10 more of these.  Such great characters, but….

I did not love Helena in the beginning of this book.  She was very judgmental of Max and it quite frankly pissed me off!!  However, as the book progressed, I really did love her, but not at first.

So Helena is Nat’s (book 2) sister.  She gets a job in New York and moves into Nat’s old apartment.  She has been attracted to Max since Nat’s wedding, but Max totally blew her off that night.  They spend time together, and Helena decides she doesn’t like Max, and tells Nat.  Nat then tells Max, and he makes it his mission to get Helena to like him.

Helena is also a Physical Therapist, and starts to work with CeeCee, Max’s daughter, who suffered a spinal cord injury and was in a wheel chair.  I loved the relationship Helena developed with CeeCee.  It was very sweet and seemed very genuine.  The end of this book though…I’m still thinking about it.

If you like great people, funny dialogue and steamy sex scenes, then this is the series for you.  I hope there are 10 more:)
