Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke & The Bookish Blog.
This weeks topic is: Top Ten Books I Liked More/Less Than I Thought I Would.
Books I liked more than I thought I would:
The Fault in our Stars by John Green: A book about a teenager with cancer is not really my wheelhouse, but I absolutely loved this beautiful story of first love.
Water for Elephants by Sara Greun: Another book that’s not my normal genre, but I loved this story. Had me from the first sentence.
Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah: I was in a big KH phase when I read this, which is much different than her other books, but I absolutely loved this story of overcoming adversity. I would recommend to anyone.
The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins: I’m not much into dystopian books, but this book was great. Katniss is a hero anyone can relate to.
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown: I admit I read DaVinci Code first, and I was convinced I wouldn’t like Angels & Demons, but I did and I liked it better than DaVinci Code by a mile.
The Spellman Files by Lisa Lutz: Her writing style is unusual, but this quirky family was fun to read about.
Books I didn’t like as much as I thought I would:
Wicked Fall by Sawyer Bennett. Usually a go to author for me, but this book just really sucked.
Out of Time by Beth Flynn. The sequel to Nine Minutes, in my opinion, absolutely sucked. My friends would strongly disagree, but I seriously hated this book and refused to read the third.
Alpha by Jasinda Wilder: This book got great reviews and sounded good but was supremely bad. I haven’t read her since.
The Will by Kristen Ashley – the first and only Kristen Ashley book I couldn’t finish. Just hated the main character from the beginning.
