Review

I don’t read a lot of cowboy stories, but I’m so glad I read this one.  Amy lost her husband in a terrible accident at a young age, and had just finally moved on and was starting to live her life again.  She goes out to the bar one night and meets Brock Baisdin, hunk-a-licious Cowboy she meets.

Amy had a hard time after the passing of her husband.  She was very young when her husband passed, and felt like her life was over.  She meets Brock and realizes she has a lot of life left to live.  Brock brought her back to life really.

There were a few things I didn’t like:

  • The book was told by both Amy and Brock BUT there was NO indication who would be narrating the story.  In the beginning, there would be a differentiator but then that stopped and it was hard to tell who was talking.  Throw the names up there.
  • Brock’s mom was a truly awful character.  As the mother of two boys, I can’t imagine acting the way his mother acted.  The ONLY thing I want is for my boys is for them to be happy.  I would never stand in the way of that.
  • Brock and Amy both pissed me off a bit at the end, but they both ended up making it ok.

I’m going to say this right now – Brock will be my Man Crush Monday next week.  He was AMAZING (until he briefly pissed me off).  He was kind and caring and never pushed Amy past what she was comfortable with.   He gave and gave.  I just loved him.

Amy was a pretty strong chick given what she had to deal with at such a young age.  This book was beautifully told.  I would say it was a tad long, but I really, really enjoyed this story and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Happy reading.
