Top 10 Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday – Books Set in Another Country

Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme that originated on The Broke and The Bookish. As of January 2018, it moved to That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is:

Top Ten Books That Take Place in Another Country

Here is my list (from a previous TTT from July 2016).

ttt july 19Angels & Demons by Dan Brown.  Set in Italy, specifically, Vatican City, although that’s technically a country, so just Vatican City:)

The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown.  Set in Paris and England.

Heller by J.D. Nixon.  To be honest, I took my until the third book in this series to figure out where this was set, but I’m now positive it’s Australia.

The Third Secret by Steve Berry.  This book is set in Vatican City, but the MC travels to Bosnia and Romania as well.

The Romanov Prophecy by Steve Berry.  About 90% of the Cotton Malone series is outside the US, but this is not a Cotton Malone book.  This book is set in Russia and is a must read.

Congo by Michael Crichton.  A writer way ahead of his time.  I think the title tells you where the book is set:)

Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton.  Jurassic Park is an island off the coast of Costa Rica.  And a scary place:)

Deception Point by Dan Brown.  This intense thriller is set in the Arctic Circle.

Playing for Pizza by John Grisham.  I personally loved this book (surprised by the low rating), set in Parma, Italy, where the people are as good as the pizza they serve.

On Dublin Street by Samantha Young.  This book was set in Scotland.

What’s on your TTT?

Happy reading!

  1. Congo…wow, I think I read that in my teens. I’ve read Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons, preferred Da Vinci Code. I haven’t read a John Grisham in a while, haven’t liked a John Grisham since Runaway Jury. But I do like Italy…maybe time to dip my foot back in. When he was good he was very entertaining (The Client, The Firm et al). I don’t think I knew Jurassic Park started as a book. I haven’t read any of the other authors I don’t think. The Heller looks interesting though. Here’s the link to my picks: https://jhohadli.wordpress.com/2018/03/27/ttt-another-country

    1. Jurassic Park is a much scarier book than movie so I would recommend it for sure! I got tired of Grisham’s law books as well. Felt like they were all the same.
