Fall TV – New Shows I’m liking

We are two weeks into the new fall TV season, and I have two new shows that I absolutely love – Manifest and A Million Little Things.

Manifest is kind of a combination of “Lost” and “This is Us”. A plane disappears for 5 1/2 years, though the people on board think it’s the next day when they land. The survivors have to deal with a world they no longer know, while dealing with the fact that everyone in their lives have moved on. Ben and Michaela are brother and sister who were on the flight, along with Ben’s son, Cole. Cole is a twin, who has not aged, while his sister is now 16 and a normal teenager. Ben’s wife seems to have moved on, and Michaela’s boyfriend has gotten married.

It’s an interesting story, though very far-fetched. The first episode was a little rough around the edges with the acting, but it kind of worked itself out in the second episode. I would highly recommend.

It airs on Monday nights at 9 pm central on NBC.

The other show I’m really liking is A Million Little Things. This story focuses on a group of friends who are dealing with the aftermath of their “leaders” suicide. By leader I mean the guy they all looked up to and kept them all together. The guys met in an elevator that broke down 10 years ago and have been inseparable since.

They are all trying to wrap their head around why John, the leader, would kill himself. People’s lives may seem perfect from the outside but be anything but on the inside, and finding out why John did this seems to be what the mystery is going to be. There are also twists and surprises you don’t see coming, which make the show even more interesting.

Have you watched these two shows? I’d love to hear your thoughts.
