There isn’t a book that ARR writes I won’t read, especially a book about the Mayson’s. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that I was all over a chance to read December’s book.
December meets Gareth at her cousin’s wedding and their chemistry is off the charts. He’s a single dad, and she’s a nerdy bookish type who also teaches 1st grade. They get off to a rocky start.
I’m a sucker for a single dad, especially when that single dad has two boys (#boymom). Gareth was a GREAT character. He was a typical ARR alpha. His kids, Mitchell and Max, were also great characters.
December appears closest to her sister April (who the next book will be about, I’m guessing) and thinks that April is interested in Gareth at first, but Gareth only had his alpha eyes set on December.
What I loved most about this story is that there wasn’t a ton of drama. It was a story of two people meeting and falling in love, with some hurdles along the way for sure (like a crazy ex-wife). But there wasn’t even that much drama there. It was a good story with characters you care about.
We got to see a lot of the usual Mayson suspects (not enough Asher though, in my opinion). I love this family and hope that ARR keeps writing the next generation of these kids. I will for sure keep reading them.
I would recommend.
