It was just supposed to be one night.
I’m a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.
Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.

As you know if you’ve read my blog, you know I’m a SUCKER for a single dad book, so I was super excited when I read the blurb for this one. I’m also a big fan of Teagan Hunter, so that was even more reason for me to read this book.
This book is about two broken people who meet at the right time. Porter is a single dad to Kyrie, who is 7 years old, and has also just moved across the country to be closer to his friends. Dory (Doris is her real name). Dory and Porter meet at Slice, a local pizza place and sparks fly immediately.
It turns out that Porter needs a nanny for Kyrie, and Dory is a candidate for the position. She ends up running into Porter and Kyrie in the store, and Kyrie immediately loves Dory, so he knows he needs to hire her.
Dory was a very interesting character, with a backstory that was actually unique. Given her story, it was not hard to understand that running and not believing in love were normal to her.
Porter had a backstory that was not unusual for a multimillionaire, but it didn’t make it any less interesting. There wasn’t a ton of drama in this book, which I appreciated. It was just a story of two people who meet, and are determined not to fall in love, but eventually do.
Add an adorable 7-year old and a bunch of fun friends (from the prior two books), you have a great story. I very much enjoyed this story and would recommend it.
I’m starting this one today. I’m excited! I hope I like it at least as much as you did.
