My Man Crush Monday for this week is Wyatt Hennington from Say You Want Me by Corinne Michaels.

Goodreads Summary

say you want meThere’s no way I’ll fall for Wyatt Hennington.

He can keep his Southern drawl, irresistible smile, and those pick-up lines all to himself. I made the mistake of sleeping with him not once, but twice. I’m not stupid enough to give him round three, especially after he left me in the middle of the night so I could see myself out. I vow to return to Philadelphia and forget him.

It proves easier said than done.  When the doctor informs me I’m the winner of door prize number two, I put my life on hold and head back to Bell Buckle. Three months and if we can’t make this work, I’m gone.  The problem is—when the cards are stacked against us, and I can’t bring myself to leave him, I’ll finally know if he truly loves me or if all my fears were real .

Yes, it’s a little strange that I’m picking the “second” book in a series (though this isn’t technically a series), but Wyatt is the better of the two Hennington brothers I’ve read so far.  Wyatt is kind, funny and loyal.  Angie shows up with some life changing news, and honestly, Wyatt handles it all in stride.  He wasn’t frazzled and took charge of the situation. Angie had some issues, but he worked with her on her insecurities.  Even in book one, I preferred Wyatt.

While these books are stand alone, they follow the same family, so reading Say You’ll Stay first is probably a good idea.  I love this family, and book three is my next TBR.

Readers,

After a two month hiatus, I’m bringing back my Man Crush Monday weekly meme.  Several memes I’ve participated in have disappeared (and I miss them), so I’m bringing this one off the shelf.  I hope that you will consider doing a post and introducing others to men you’ve read (or watched) and really liked.  Thanks in advance for your participation.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Marc Watson from His Rules by Scott Hildreth.

Goodreads Summary

his rulesMy endeavors to find the right man had afforded me countless hookups, infidelity, and a handful of one-night-stands.

Then, Marc Watson stepped into my life. He was handsome, and not the kind that could be satisfied by simply taking a second look. Hell, men like him graced the covers of magazines and were the subject of every woman’s dreams. He was also intellectual and kind. The. Complete. Package.  But. He had this ridiculous rule.

To get a shot at him, I had to agree to be in a no sex relationship for thirty days. Making it thirty minutes without having sex with him would be a stretch. Thirty days would be impossible.

It was the opposite of everything I had done in the past, but he assured me if I could comply, the reward would be mind-blowing.  I’d never been one to back down from a challenge, so I took the deal.  Little did I know that doing so would change my life forever.

To get a shot with Marc Watson, Taryn has to agree to go 30 days with no sex.  She takes one look at Marc and realizes that going to be near impossible.  Marc wants a relationship without sex for 30 days to discover if the person he’s with is the right one.  The only thing it proved is Marc is the right one.  Such an amazing guy.  I had come off a few stretches of bad books when I found this one, and I could not have loved it more.  I rarely give 5 stars to books, but this one got them – and earned every one.  I loved this book and would highly recommend it.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Brock Baisdin from Fire on the Farm by Betty Shreffler.

goodreads

fire on the farmLosing the man she loved to a terrible accident, pushes Amy Flanders into a life of independence. Her only source of comfort is her work—a business dedicated to the care and training of horses. Until one lonely night leads her into the arms of Brock Baisdin. A man who fulfills her deepest desires and reignites a flame long forgotten.

Between his picky tastes and running his own business, Brock Baisdin has little time for women, but that doesn’t stop him from looking for love. After saving Amy from a cancelled date, Brock is instantly drawn to the shy and beautiful woman hiding secrets beneath her lust-filled baby blues—secrets he finds himself eager to discover.

Undeniable attraction pulls them into each other’s arms. Hope draws them into each other’s lives. For Amy Flanders, Brock Baisdin may be the man to bring love back into her lonely life, if only she can overcome the wounds of her past and face her biggest fear—risking the pain of another shattered heart.

Oh my goodness, Brock Baisdin was one of the best guys I have ever read!  Amy lost her husband very young and in a very horrific way.  Two years later, she meets Brock and he makes her feel again.  Amy felt a lot of guilt with meeting a new man, and Brock was incredibly patient with her, giving her the room she needed to get past her guilt.  He did make me a little mad at the end, but he totally redeemed himself.  This book was really, really good and is available on Kindle Unlimited.  I would recommend highly.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Ford Landry from Swear by Adriana Locke.

Goodreads Summary

swearEllie Pagan has a list of reasons to stay away from Ford Landry.

It’s a mile long and was so much easier to stick to when he was a world away. Now that he’s standing in front of her—body hard and chiseled from a stint in the military, suit cut to perfection, and a smirk she could never resist—remembering all the reasons why just got a whole lot harder.

Ford gets Ellie isn’t his biggest fan. He just doesn’t care.

Standing in front of him, giving him hell, she’s even prettier than he remembered. All he can think about is how she felt in his arms, the taste of her kiss, the sound of her giggle in the middle of the night. He may not know how to win her back, but he does know this: he may have let her go once, but that’s one mistake he won’t make again.

I just love these Landry men, and Ford is no exception.  Ford is the soldier, who was come home to open Landry Security.  His brother Graham and his girlfriend Mallory send Ford to a new boutique opening up, claiming it needs security.  Ford is shocked to see Ellie Pagan, his first love, standing in the store.  Once Ford sees Ellie, he vows that she will be his, and he’s not letting her go.  Ellie doesn’t make it very easy for him, but Ford doesn’t give up.  He was a good alpha hero and someone I was happy to root for.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Josh Cartwright from All About the D by Lex Martin.

Goodreads Summary

all about the dI’m known for being formal. Meticulous. Professional.  So you’d never suspect I spend my nights photographing my impressive junk for a NSFW blog. Don’t roll your eyes. I’m not bragging. I have millions of followers who’ll tell you they live for my posts.  I’m like a superhero, saving humanity one dick pic at a time.

Except leading a double life means I need someone to help me protect my anonymity, so that no one, especially my family, ever discovers my online celebrity.  When I call one of the most respected law firms in town, I expect quality legal advice and confidentiality. Not a sinfully sexy attorney whose dangerous curves and soul-piercing gray eyes make me want to personally demonstrate my particular skill set.  I shouldn’t be tempted.
Especially when she knows all of my best-kept secrets. But everyone has a breaking point. And I’ve met mine.

Josh Cartwright is the youngest son of one of Portland’s most prominent families.  He’s also the person behind the dick pic blog called All About the D.  Josh can’t have anyone find out that he’s the person behind his blog.  So he goes to a law firm to find an Intellectual Property lawyer, and there, he meets Evelyn Mills.  Despite the fact that Josh runs a “porn blog”, he’s a really sweet guy.  Evelyn hurt her ankle, and he took care of her.  He most certainly didn’t seem like someone who came from a very wealthy family with a total overbearing mother (hated her).  He was a really down to earth guy, and I would recommend this book to anyone!

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Crew Ledger from I Just Want You by Kaylee Ryan.

Goodreads Summary

i just want you “Go to college,” they said. “Get a good job,” they said. “It will be a piece of cake.” Well, whoever they are, they lied. Sure, college was a blast, but after college, not so much. The finding a job to go with my expensive education, that part was not so easy. At least not until I was offered a position at the new club in town.

Life is defined by the little moments that have the power to change it completely. I never thought getting a cup of coffee would change mine, but it did. She did. She’s one of those moments.

He’s my boss.  She’s my employee.  I want him.  I can’t resist her.

Crew is starting a nightclub from scratch.  Every morning he stops into a coffee shop and is greeted by the cute little woman who works there.  Imagine his surprise when his partner and best friend ends up hiring the same girl to be the club’s manager.  Crew is instantly attracted to Berklee and wants her, but feels like that’s a line he can’t cross.  In the meantime, he becomes a jealous OTT alpha where Berklee is concerned.  He was a little annoying at times, but overall, he was a really good guy; good to his employees, good to his parents and good to Berklee.  Overall good guy.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Schmidt from New Girl (Fox, Tuesdays).

I’ve decided to go the TV route this week.  I binged the first three seasons of New Girl on Netflix, and have watched the rest of the series live.  Watching Schmidt’s growth as a person over the past 6 seasons has been really fun.  It’s hard to believe that the same person who had put constantly put money in a “douche jar” (for saying/doing stupid things) has turned into my favorite male character on the show.

Schmidt had some growing pains.  He found the love of his life, then lost her.  Once he got her back, he became a new person, and I LOVE the new Schmidt.  He’s a real person now.  I really hope that the show isn’t over, because I need more of Schmidt, especially now that we know his first name!!

Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday #43

This is my 43rd installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Nico Manganiello from Friends Without Benefits by Penny Reid.

friends without benefitsThere are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Finney: 1) She suffers from severe sarcastic syndrome, especially when she’s unnerved, 2) No one unnerves her like Nico Manganiello, and 3) She knows how to knit.

Elizabeth Finney is almost always right about everything: the musical merits of boy bands are undervalued by society, “benefits” with human Ken dolls are better without friendship, and the sun has set on her once-in-a-lifetime chance for true love. But when Elizabeth’s plans for benefits without friendship are disarmed by the irritatingly charismatic and chauvinistic Nico Manganiello- her former nemesis- she finds herself struggling to maintain the electric fence around her heart while avoiding electrocution or, worse, falling in love.

Ok, first of all, I’m breaking my own rules (not official, just my own) and I’m using the guy from the book I’m currently reading (though I’m at 85% – so almost done).  I don’t generally do that, but I’m just so enamored with Nico that I had to use him this week.

Oh Nico.  You are awesome.  Nico Manganiello is the star of a comedy show on Comedy Central and a celebrity.  Elizabeth Finney is an MD who is helping treat his niece.  Nico was the boy who tormented Elizabeth while they were growing up.  Started the nickname Skinny Finney.  Thing is, he was in love with her then, and is in love with her now.  Elizabeth is kind of a bitch (my full review will come later) but man, Nico is one patient dude.  And sweet.  And funny.  And Italian.  I pictured Joe Manganiello (below) the whole time.  Yummy.  Seriously not sure why I waited 3 years to pick up book 2 in this series.  Book three is already on hold.

Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday #42

This is my 42nd installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Lukas Hendricks from Sweet Spot by Stella Rhys.

Our first meeting as neighbors was screwed from the start.
He was hot. I was naked. And we had no chance in hell at ever being platonic.

sweet spotI’ll be the first to admit that I live at extremes. After going ten years locked in what felt like a dysfunctional marriage, I’m now decidedly boy-free. In nearly three years I’ve had no boyfriends, no flings, no dates and no sex. For the sake of my dream career, the sacrifice has been easy.  At least it was.  Until he came along.

Lukas Hendricks. He’s rude, gorgeous, arrogant – a stone-carved wall of muscle and distraction. He’s everything I know to avoid but there’s no avoiding your next-door neighbor. Oh yeah. The man now lives three steps from me and to make matters worse, he crashed into my life while I was relaxed in the tub – mortifying to say the least and it went something like this: I was exposed. He looked. He laughed.

And then I locked myself out.  In short, Lukas Hendricks was trouble from the start. And me?  I was – for the first time in years – about to be screwed.

Lukas Hendricks is staying at his sister’s apartment while his apartment is being renovated.  When he meets his neighbor Lia, she is literally wet and naked.  Hilarity ensues.  The chemistry between them was off the charts, but the banter was really hilarious.  Lukas was dealing with a trauma from his past and a douche canoe of an ex-business partner.  He was so great with Lia.  He allowed her to have her independence, despite his intense need to swoop in and save the day.  And the guy on the cover is really, really yummy.  I’m hoping from more in this series:)
