Review

Book 2 in the Until Her series focuses on sister June, daughter of Asher and November and sister to July, book 1.  June married a man named Evan when she first moved to Alabama for college; she knew the minute she saw him that he was the man she wanted to marry.  Evan was getting ready to go the Marines.  While he was deployed, he served June with divorce papers, via his mother.

Fast forward a few years, June is done with college and back home in Tennessee near her family.  It turns out that June was dating a guy in Alabama who was arrested for being a drug runner with his family.  Jax (June’s cousin) assign’s his “guy” Evan to watch June.  June can’t handle that Evan is protecting her.

June and Evan eventually start talking again.  Evan is an even bigger alpha than Wes and Jax and I didn’t think that was possible.  I freaking loved Evan.   Evan had some major self-esteem issues when it came to June, but it actually made him a more likable character.  I liked June as well – she really stood up for herself.

I will continue reading this series as long as books are coming out.  I would recommend anything that Aurora Rose Reynolds writes.

Happy reading.

Until June by Aurora Rose Reynolds.  Just started reading it this morning on the train.  These books are really fast reads, but the way ARR writes alpha males makes me happy.

What I recently finished

I finished Sacrifice by Adriana Locke last night.  This was a very emotional book.  I can’t give a lot away without spoiling, but this is a really good book.

I think I’m going to read Bossman by Vi Keeland.  The guy on the cover is incredibly hot and the book sounds really funny.

Review

Until Jax is the story of Jax Mayson, son of Cash and Lilly Mayson (Until Lilly).  Jax is grown up and working with his Uncle Nico to stop human trafficking.  When his cousin July is kidnapped, she meets Ellie Anthony, and when they are rescued, Jax meets Ellie – and instantly falls in love.

I am not a big fan of insta-love.  But it didn’t bother me too much in this book – mainly because for a while, it was pretty one-sided.

Ellie has a daughter, Hope, who is 3 and she was the absolute cutest little thing ever.  The way she talked, and everything about her was just adorable.  There were quite a few spelling and grammar errors in this book, but I’m way too invested at this point to care too much (though it does annoy me).

There are some pretty dark topics in this book, so if you have an issue with human trafficking, you may want to avoid this one.

This series could go on for another 12 books – if you do a book for each kid in the series, and I hope it does.  ARR writes a great alpha male and I really enjoy reading them.

Happy reading and hope you’re having a good Saturday.

Review

Until July has been sitting on my kindle for a long time now, so I decided to finally give it a shot – and I’m so glad I did.

Until July is a spin-off of the Until series – July is the daughter of Asher and November of Until November.  She’s the oldest of five daughters (all named after months) and a veterinarian.  She’s out on a motorcycle ride (she rides a bike, cool) and she swerves to avoid a bird with a broken wing, and pretty much runs a group of bikers off the road.

The bikers follow her and confront her, and she comes face-to-face to Wes Silver.  Wes yells at her and she tells him that she’s a vet and wanted to save the bird, and Wes comes close to her, she tazes him.  July ends up taking the bird home – and naming it Taser.

A few weeks later, Wes shows up at her vet clinic and that’s pretty much it.  He is her man from that second on.

Wes is the ultimate alpha male.  July had a little bit of a hard time with it in the beginning, which I found funny (her dad, Asher, is a total alpha male).  Her sisters and cousins are sweet (the next book is about her sister June) and I loved her parents.  The description makes it sound like Asher was going to be an asshole and he totally wasn’t.

This was a fast read, and has another spinoff series starring cousin Jax (Cash and Lilly’s son), which I’m already reading.  I would recommend.

Happy reading and have a good weekend!

Lady and the Champ by Katherine Lace.  The story of a football player and his physical therapist.  Austin is also a single dad, which is super sexy.

What I recently finished

Grinder by Samantha Whiskey.  Grinder is the story of Gage and Bailey – Gage is Grinder for the Seattle Sharks hockey team and Bailey is the nanny to his three year old daughter.  I didn’t love Gage so much in the beginning, but I loved Bailey and his daughter.  A good story.

I think I’m going to read Until July by Aurora Rose Reynolds.  It’s been sitting on my Kindle for a while now.  Either that or I’m going to read Restored by Kate Canterbary, which is the 5th book in the Walsh series.
