Man Crush Monday

Man Crush Monday

Readers,

After a two month hiatus, I’m bringing back my Man Crush Monday weekly meme.  Several memes I’ve participated in have disappeared (and I miss them), so I’m bringing this one off the shelf.  I hope that you will consider doing a post and introducing others to men you’ve read (or watched) and really liked.  Thanks in advance for your participation.

Man Crush Monday is a weekly meme created by yours truly, Sheri at Read in a Flash!

The purpose of MCM is to spotlight men that are memorable and significant to you, either in print, TV or in real life.

Rules

  • Tell us who your “Man Crush” is and tell us why you like him.
  • Cut and past your post into the comments so others can see.
  • Be creative and have fun!

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Marc Watson from His Rules by Scott Hildreth.

Goodreads Summary

his rulesMy endeavors to find the right man had afforded me countless hookups, infidelity, and a handful of one-night-stands.

Then, Marc Watson stepped into my life. He was handsome, and not the kind that could be satisfied by simply taking a second look. Hell, men like him graced the covers of magazines and were the subject of every woman’s dreams. He was also intellectual and kind. The. Complete. Package.  But. He had this ridiculous rule.

To get a shot at him, I had to agree to be in a no sex relationship for thirty days. Making it thirty minutes without having sex with him would be a stretch. Thirty days would be impossible.

It was the opposite of everything I had done in the past, but he assured me if I could comply, the reward would be mind-blowing.  I’d never been one to back down from a challenge, so I took the deal.  Little did I know that doing so would change my life forever.

To get a shot with Marc Watson, Taryn has to agree to go 30 days with no sex.  She takes one look at Marc and realizes that going to be near impossible.  Marc wants a relationship without sex for 30 days to discover if the person he’s with is the right one.  The only thing it proved is Marc is the right one.  Such an amazing guy.  I had come off a few stretches of bad books when I found this one, and I could not have loved it more.  I rarely give 5 stars to books, but this one got them – and earned every one.  I loved this book and would highly recommend it.

Share your post in the comments below.  I’m always looking for new books to read, movies to watch or TV shows to binge!

Happy Monday.

Man Crush Monday #21

This is my 21st installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Jace McAllister from Ignite by Tessa Teevan.

Summary from Amazon.com:  After nearly a year and a half of grieving the loss of her husband, twenty-seven year old Alexa Sullivan Tate is headed back to her hometown after a decade of being away. She has no idea her high school crush, Jace McAllister, the guy who stole her heart the same night that he broke it, is more than ready to pick up the pieces. Jace has spent the last ten years in the Army defusing bomb after bomb, trying to forget the girl who ignited all his passions. Little does he know that the spark still exists. Ten years ago they had smoldering chemistry, but the spark between them now might light a fuse that leads to an explosion even Jace can’t stop. Not that he wants to. If only Alexa can get past her guilt and trust her heart again. But how do you put it all on the line when you’ve already lost everything once before?

Jace McAllister was an awesome character.  He lost Lexie ten years ago and has never really gotten over her.  She ends up in his path again and he decides he’s not going to stop until she is his again.  Jace is also former Army, and has a close group of guy friends he is very loyal to.  The rest of the guys in the series are great too.   I would highly recommend.

Man Crush Monday #20

I can’t believe this is my 20th edition of Man Crush Monday.  The purpose of Man Crush Monday is to introduce you to some of my “book boyfriends”, as I read mostly romance.

For my 20th edition, I’m introducing you to my favorite guy from my all time favorite book series.

My Man Crush Monday this week is Lee Nightingale from Rock Chick by Kristen Ashley.

Summary from goodreads.comIndy Savage, cop’s daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy’s employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicating matters, Lee has decided he’s interested, Indy’s decided she’s not. But she can’t seem to keep Lee out of her life when she’s repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she’s finding dead bodies).

Indy’s best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee’s challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

Lee is the owner of Nightingale Investigations and a private eye.  His younger sister Alli’s best friend is India Savage, who has had a crush on Lee forever.  One of Indy’s employee’s ends up in trouble and Lee comes to the rescue.  Lee is a major alpha male, and he is very protective of his “guys”.  I loved Lee – he shows up in all the Rock Chick books (and some other KA books).    If you haven’t read the Rock Chick series, I would highly recommend.

This is my 19th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Joe Morelli from the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

Summary from goodreads.com:  (Twelve Sharp – my favorite) FIRST A STRANGER APPEARS
While chasing down the usual cast of miscreants and weirdos Stephanie discovers that a crazed woman is stalking her.  THEN THE STRANGER REVEALS HER SECRETS
The woman dresses in black, carries a 9mm Glock, and has a bad attitude and a mysterious connection to dark and dangerous Carlos Manoso …street name, Ranger.  NEXT, SOMEBODY DIES  The action turns deadly serious, and Stephanie goes from hunting skips to hunting a murderer.  SOON, THE CHASE IS ON Ranger needs Stephanie for more reasons than he can say.  And now, the two are working together to find a killer, rescue a missing child, and stop a lunatic from raising the body count.  When Stephanie Plum and Ranger get too close for comfort, vice cop Joe Morelli (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) steps in.  Will the ticking clock stop at the stroke of twelve, or will a stranger in the wind find a way to stop Stephanie Plum…forever?

I freaking love Joe Morelli.  Trenton cop from a big Italian family, pizza lover, baseball lover, dog lover, he’s the total package.  Add to that he puts  up with Stephanie Plum and her crazy antics makes him the better of the two guys in the series.  Below is a picture of who I picture as Joe – you’re welcome.

This is my 18th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Lautner Sullivan from Undeniably You by Jewel E. Ann.

Summary from goodreads.comOne crazy dog—one awkward vet—one naked pool guy—and one life-changing month in California to make friends, fall in love, and twist fate. Who gets paid to walk a dog and recline by the pool all day? Sydney Montgomery, undeniably youaspiring museum curator and professional house-sitter, that’s who. When her aunt and uncle need a house and dog sitter for thirty days in Palo Alto, Sydney can’t turn down the chance to be closer to her sister in L.A. Within twenty-four hours of her arrival, Sydney’s cleaning up runny dog poo, taking an uncooperative pooch to a handsome yet awkward vet, and being rescued from the bottom of the pool by a naked “pool guy.”

Lautner, “pool guy,” has a hot body and a cool persona. With eyes of iridescent blue oceans, he is mesmerizing, sexy, and addictive. What he is not—the pool guy. Dr. Lautner Sullivan is a college wide receiver turned pediatric resident. He knows how to woo a woman with flowers, pastries, and sweet tea. Lautner is every girl’s dream, but Sydney is not every girl. She’s immune to rainbows, fairytales, pixy dust, and the “L” word. The attraction is immediate, the friendship is earned, and the love is undeniable. Thirty days is their forever, but forever is not long enough.

Though I didn’t love the female lead in this book as much, I FREAKING LOVED LAUTNER SULLIVAN!  This guy was awesome.  He was sweet, funny, romantic and an all around awesome guy.  I have thought about him several times since I finished the book; that’s a good sign that he was a great character.  If you like a good guy, then read this book.  Maybe you’ll like Sydney more than I did:)

Man Crush Monday #17

This is my 17th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Matt Montgomery from Tied With Me by Kristen Proby.

First of all, I can’t believe I went 17 weeks without Matt being my MCM.  I freaking LOVE this guy.  You’ll hear why below.

Summary from goodreads.comA man whose lifestyle is so different from her own…

Nic Dalton’s cupcake bakery is thriving. She serves both rock stars and locals alike, tied with mecontent with her growing business. But one adventurous night out with her best friend, Bailey, turns her life upside down. She meets a handsome stranger who makes her skin sizzle and her heart race. Their one night together is explosive and unexpected, but when he has to suddenly leave without taking her phone number, Nic resigns herself to never seeing him again.…What will it take to trust and submit to his every desire?

Matt Montgomery is one of Seattle’s finest. He works hard, loves and protects his family fiercely, and is loyal almost to a fault.  And he has a penchant for bondage.

Matt enjoys the way a woman looks wrapped up in his ropes, and makes no apologies for his preferences. When he meets Nic at a fetish festival, the small, beautiful woman catches his eye, drawing him to her. His one night with her was everything he’s ever looked for in a partner, but is cut short because of a family emergency. Even before he sees her again weeks later, he knows he’ll never get her out of his system.  And he’ll do whatever it takes to make her his.

I know it’s a little odd to choose the 6th book in a series and focus on the guy, but Matt Montgomery is by far my favorite Montgomery brother and my favorite male from the entire series.  Matt is a cop in Seattle with a penchant for bondage – something he is very self conscious about and doesn’t want his family to know about.  He meets Nic at a fetish festival and he’s done for.

Matt was sweet and loving, and very protective of his family – qualities I love in a man.  Nic had some serious baggage, but Matt was so patient with her, giving her the time she needed – until the end.  I think I re-read the end of the book 50 times.  I would highly recommend this entire series.

This is my 16th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Nick Hammer from Mister O by Lauren Blakely.Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000026_00023]

I don’t normally do my MCM on a book I just finished, but I just loved Nick Hammer so much that I’m making him my man for the week. Nick is a cartoonist, who writes “The Adventures of Mr. Orgasm”, which is turned into a late night show.  He has a dirty mind – and a healthy appetite.  When his best friend’s sister wants lessons on how to win a guy, Nick jumps at the chance.  Mostly because he secretly has a crush on her.  He is also an animal lover – he volunteers to walk dogs at a local shelter a few days a week.  Who couldn’t love that?

Man Crush Monday #15

This is my 15th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Simon Parker  from Wallbanger by Alice Clayton.

Synopsis from goodreads:  The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she’s gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor’s nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy’s athletic wallbangerprowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly…

In a delicious mix of silly and steamy, Alice Clayton dishes out a hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight…

Oh, Simon, how I love thee.  If you haven’t read Wallbanger (seriously, what are you waiting for), you need to now.  Why?  Simon Parker is why.  This wallbanging hottie is funny as hell and just as sweet.  You will instantly fall in love with him.  Do yourself a favor and check him out:)  Plus he sells out pretty easily for food – what woman doesn’t love a man she can control with food:)

Here is what I picture Simon looking like (you’re welcome).

Man Crush Monday #14

This is my 14th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Porter Smith from The Mother Road by Meghan Quinn.

Synopsis from goodreads.comNever in a million years would I have pictured myself as an axe-wielding, dragon lady, chopping up multi-colored flannel shirts into my very own mother roadplaid mulch. But here I am, chopping away my frustrations.

It all started when my brother, Paul, convinced me to go on one last family road trip across the Mother Road with him and my dad.. Just like old times, right? Wrong. What Paul fails to mention is his best man, Porter, will be joining us, who just so happens to be my childhood crush and the man who broke my heart four years ago.

What is supposed to be a fun, family bonding experience across Route 66 turns into a war of pranks, awkward moments and bathrooms full of dirty flannel shirts and day old beard clippings. Paul’s know-it-all attitude and Porter’s devilish charm brings me to the brink of my sanity on my seven day trek across the United States with three bearded men in a small 1980’s RV.

Porter Smith is Paul’s best friend, and been secretly pining for his sister, Marley, for years.  Porter broke Marley’s heart four years earlier – but Paul doesn’t know that.  Porter is a total sweetheart.  I loved him.  He was absolutely hilarious – playing pranks of both Marley and Paul, but at the same time, just being sweet and hilarious.  This book was really funny, and I would highly recommend it.

Happy Monday!

Man Crush Monday #13

This is my 13th installment in my Man Crush Monday meme.  Since I read mostly romance, I thought I’d share some of my “book crushes” with you, and possibly introduce you to some new reading material.

My Man Crush Monday for this week is Quinn Rusek from Man Candy by Melanie Harlow.

Synopsis from goodreads.comHe’s back.  Not just back in town, but living in the flat right beneath mine. And he looks good enough to eat, which is just one more reason to stay man candyaway from him. But I can’t resist.

The sex is incredible (pretty sure we’ve shaken the house right off its foundation), but he can’t fool me—not this time. A degree in marketing and five years in advertising have taught me that “true love” is a fairy tale used to sell lipstick, diamonds, and perfume. It doesn’t exist.

He thinks I’m wrong, and he wants to prove it.  I think he’s crazy, so I dare him to try.  It might be the biggest mistake of my life.

Quinn Rusek was the main reason I finished this book.  He was the sweetest, most patient man I’ve read in a long time.  He knew he wanted Jamie, who was a cynic when it came to love, and gave her the time she needed to realize they were meant to be.  He also loved his mom, and had a lot of regrets about his mom dying at such a young age.  I would highly recommend this book if you love a strong, sweet hero.

Happy reading.
